Tired of bogged down factory built computers?

By Rick Davis of IT Business Labs

What to look for in a great custom built computer builder

by http://www.ITBusinessLabs.com

Knowledge of tech market:

With plenty of experience following the technology market they will know the current options that offer the best balance of stability, reliability, price and speed. They will also keep informed on what options the future will bring and will design your custom built computer to be able to take advantage of new technologies whenever possible.

Match and balance:

It takes a broad understanding of the components and their function in order to design a custom built computer that is matched and balanced. Computers built without this understanding have performance in some areas that goes unused because other areas of the computer are not matched to utilize it.

Business class

When the companies that create the newest, fastest and most secure technologies test for compatibility and stability, they turn to the established name brands that make the best and most reliable components. If your builder is saving you a few dollars on an internal component or peripheral that is not an established name brand they run the risk of installing components that have not been tested in your type of computer and/or with the other components in your computer. When you buy a computer from most builders, you are only given a few choices as to the hardware that is used. This allows the builder to use outdated, cheap and or no-name parts they have in stock or can order cheaply. This often results in instability, inconsistent performance and a shortened life span. Some computer builders use components that have been altered so that they cannot be upgraded or even updated without paying for a service plan. By purchasing such a computer you will need to buy a complete new computer instead of just upgrading the one you have or pay a monthly fee to allow you to apply regular updates and fixes. This is why they will use only established, upgradeable name brand components for every part in all of your custom built computer, the result is a stable, reliable and fast computer that lasts.

Understanding of your needs:

In order to build the perfect custom built computer for you, they will take the time to get a detailed understanding of your wants and needs. They will offer options and together choose the best balance of price and performance. Then they will put together the components that fit offered by the best manufacturers in the business.

Pricing ordering:

they will be very picky about where they purchase your components and they will have spent years acquiring relationships with the best and largest hardware and software resellers in the country. This results in extremely competitive pricing and client services. They will have so few returns and thoroughly test any suspected part with such precision that their resellers will know that if they call for a replacement it is needed. As a result for many components they will offer next day replacement before returning the failed part. This is especially important with a hard drive that has your important data that you would like to see on the repaired system before the old hard drive is returned.

Hardware build:

Many builders consider the hardware build an entry level task to be preformed by employees with very little experience and little or no knowledge of the entire computer. Your builder will have studied how the different components of your custom computer effect the interior environment. The life of computer components can be extended by matching the heat produced by the computer with a proper cooling strategy. Inexpensive or poorly thought out cooling strategies can be loud, prone to failure and/or cause a computer failure. The expertise that goes into a great hardware build assures you a clean, neat and well balanced build. Because of the pride taken in this part of the process you can be assured that if you ever do take off the cover you will see a work of art.

Software build:

Computer builders are offered kickbacks for installing trial versions and other free software on the computers they sell. As a result these computers leave the system bogged down with all kinds of junk and soon to expire protection which will cost the client additional money to continue to use. Often the companies that offer those kickbacks are not the best type of software for the client; if they were the best they would not need to payoff the builders in order to sell their software.
A great builder will install only the software that the client needs, and sell you the best software available for your unique situation, and give you the costs up front. They will not install software into your computer until it has been proven to be stable and able to perform the function you desire. This results in a clean, fast well protected computer that just works.
When you receive a new computer from the factories you have to activate, initialize, register and configure your software. A great system builder will install the free utilities that are commonly used like Adobe reader and flash, Apple QuickTime and others as well as update and setup all of the software so that you can turn it on and go.
Before delivery of your custom built computer they will perform strenuous burn in testing to assure that your work and your investment will perform as it should for as long as possible. Many such clients buy their replacement computers because they want to take advantage of technology advances, not as a reaction to a computer failure.

Delivery setup data transfer:

If they are local they do not just leave the computer at your doorstep and should include a reasonably priced option for local delivery and assembly. Additionally they will be experts at making the transition to a new computer as easy as possible. They can transfer your data and settings, move your previous data to the right place as well as set up email and other applications and services.

Support after the sale:

Having your local custom system builder support the custom computers they build just makes sense. They will have the most complete understanding of the computers capabilities. Because of their intimate knowledge of your computer they can save you time in troubleshooting if an issue does arise and can suggest which upgrades may be applicable.

Warrantee and advantages:

As a result of our pride and diligence they should offer a great warranty.
Main components – 18 months P/L – mainboard, processor and hard drive(s)
Complete computer – 12 months P/L
If they are an Authorized Intel Product Dealer they can offer one day RMA of main board and Processor sometimes even after 18 months.

When you buy a custom computer Built By IT Business Labs you receive a unique work of art and a a source of pride that no one else can offer.
